activeTV was commissioned by Movie Extra channel to produce an original and exclusive series 'To be or not be' of the Short + Sweet Gala. Each episode goes up close and personal with various plays giving the audience an inside look at behind the scenes from early auditions to the Final Gala Night.

Australia's most creative (and brave) playwrites, directors and actors gather to perform 10 minute plays before a panel of judges, for the Short + Sweet Festival.

Filmed at the Sydney Seymour Theatre, the Short + Sweet TV series not only showcases the bite-size theatre productions, but also takes you backstage prior to the "five-minute-call" to where the real drama happens behind the curtain.

Whilst producing theatre for television has traditionally been a challenge, the series and its fly on the wall aspects, has proved a hit with Movie Extra viewers.
