Record breaking reality show races to third series
The Amazing Race Asia
activeTV produced the first ever non-US version of the Emmy Award winning series in 2006 for Sony Pictures Entertainment owned television network AXN. When shown in November 2006, The Amazing Race Asia broke all ratings records, even out-rating free to air networks.
The second series proved to be even bigger with even higher ratings, breaking all previous records held even by free-to-air channels.
The race is a logistical and creative tour de force with production teams in 10 countries, no less than 65 people and over a tonne of equipment being airlifted, on average, every second day. Over 25 cameras are used on the production.
The third series was recently nominated for an International Emmy.
The series is executive produced by Michael McKay; the series producer is Serena Lau. Production Manager is Suzanne Radbone. Post production is facilitated at activeTV's Singapore and Melbourne offices.
The Amazing Race Asia has
won consecutive Asian TV Awards (2008, 2009).
Season 4 of The Amazing Race Asia aired on AXN in 2010.
