John Purnell

Director

John is the Director of ActiveTV, and was formerly with Village Roadshow as a senior executive.

John was Director of New Business Development for Village Roadshow and was responsible for negotiating a range of new commercial deals across their core business cinema division. John considers a multi million-dollar deal with Coca-Cola (involving cinema operations in 20 different countries) to be a highlight of his time at the company.

During his seven years at Village Roadshow John was VP General Manager of Times Village Entertainment in Singapore, a 50/50 joint venture with the Times Publishing Group.

The company set up a complete distribution and sales network within the Asia Pacific Region for high quality interactive products. After three years in Asia John returned to corporate head office in Melbourne.

Prior to Village Roadshow John spent twelve years as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Australian Institute of Sport and Sports Commission based in Canberra. He now lives on the Gold Coast where he runs a consultancy specialising in sports and entertainment.
